Job Title: Pickleball Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Pickleball Coordinator at Beau Rivage Golf & Resort is a dynamic and enthusiastic professional responsible for the comprehensive development, implementation, and oversight of all pickleball programming and operations. This role is pivotal in fostering a vibrant and engaging pickleball community for our members and guests, ensuring a high-quality experience that aligns with the resort's recreational standards. The Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for all pickleball-related inquiries and will play a crucial role in promoting the sport and\ the resort' s offerings.


Key Responsibilities:


Program Development and Management

The Pickleball Coordinator will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing a diverse range of pickleball programs throughout the year. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:


  • League Management: Design, organize, and manage various pickleball leagues for different skill levels and demographics (e.g., singles, doubles, mixed doubles, senior leagues). This involves creating league structures, scheduling matches, tracking standings, resolving disputes, and coordinating awards ceremonies. The coordinator will need to be adept at utilizing scheduling software (Courtreserve) and communication platforms to ensure smooth league operations. (Refer to The Official Rules of Pickleball for guidance on league structure and fair play).


  • Social Events and Mixers: Develop and host engaging pickleball social events, mixers, and round robins to foster community and provide opportunities for casual play and networking. These events should cater to a variety of interests and skill levels, encouraging participation from all resort guests and members.


  • Clinics and Workshops: Collaborate with approved instructors to schedule and promote a robust calendar of pickleball clinics and workshops. These educational opportunities should cater to beginners, intermediate players, and advanced players, covering fundamental skills, strategy, and advanced techniques. The coordinator will ensure that clinic content is relevant and delivered effectively.


  • Special Events and Tournaments: Plan and execute special pickleball events, such as holiday-themed tournaments, charity events, and inter-resort competitions. This includes securing sponsorships, managing registrations, coordinating volunteers, and overseeing event logistics from start to finish.


  • Youth and Junior Programs: Develop and implement age-appropriate pickleball programs for children and teenagers, introducing them to the sport in a fun and engaging manner. This may involve summer camps, after-school programs, and junior leagues.



Instructor Program Management


The Pickleball Coordinator will be responsible for managing and overseeing the resort's approved pickleball instructor program, ensuring the highest quality of instruction and adherence to resort standards.


  • Instructor Vetting and Onboarding: Assist in the recruitment, vetting, and onboarding of qualified pickleball instructors. This includes verifying certifications, conducting interviews, and ensuring instructors are familiar with resort policies and procedures.


  • Scheduling and Coordination: Maintain optimal play times for Club & Resort Members. Coordinate instructor schedules for lessons, clinics, and other programs, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient use of court time.


  • Performance Monitoring and Feedback: Regularly observe instructor performance, gather feedback from participants to ensure their experience at the Resort aligns with our strategic vision.


  • Continuing Education: Encourage and facilitate opportunities for instructors to pursue continuing education and professional development in pickleball instruction.



Networking and Promotion


The Pickleball Coordinator will act as an ambassador for Beau Rivage Golf & Resort, actively promoting its pickleball offerings and building relationships within the broader pickleball community.


  • Community Engagement: Network with local pickleball clubs, organizations, and associations to promote Beau Rivage's programs and attract new participants.


  • Marketing and Communication: Collaborate with the resort's marketing team to develop promotional materials, social media content, and website updates related to pickleball. This includes writing compelling descriptions of programs and events.


  • Guest and Member Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for all pickleball-related inquiries, providing excellent customer service and addressing concerns promptly and professionally. Build strong relationships with resort guests and members, fostering a welcoming and inclusive pickleball environment.



Court and Equipment Management


The Pickleball Coordinator will be the primary "eyes on the courts" ensuring the optimal condition and safety of all pickleball facilities and equipment.


  • Maintenance Reporting: Conduct regular inspections of pickleball courts, nets, and surrounding areas. Promptly report any maintenance issues, such as cracks in the court surface, damaged nets, or faulty lighting, to the appropriate maintenance department. This proactive approach ensures the safety and playability of the courts.


  • Equipment Inventory and Maintenance: Maintain an accurate inventory of pickleball equipment, including paddles, balls, and court accessories. Oversee the proper storage, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment, recommending replacements as needed.


  • Court Scheduling and Usage: Manage the court reservation system, ensuring fair and efficient allocation of court time for lessons, leagues, open play, and special events.


  • Safety and Risk Management: Implement and enforce safety guidelines and rules of play to ensure a safe environment for all participants. This includes being knowledgeable about first aid procedures and emergency protocols.



Administrative and Financial Responsibilities


  • Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the pickleball program budget, tracking expenses and revenue to ensure financial sustainability.


  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on program participation, revenue, and key performance indicators for management review.


  • Policy Enforcement: Ensure adherence to all resort policies and
  • procedures related to pickleball operations.



Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.


  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in pickleball program coordination, sports management, or a similar role, preferably in a resort or club setting.


  • Pickleball Proficiency: Demonstrated advanced proficiency in pickleball play and a thorough understanding of the rules, strategies, and techniques of the sport.


  • Certifications: Current pickleball instructor certification from a recognized organization (e.g., IPTPA, PPR) is not required but highly desirable.


  • Skills:


  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute successful programs and events.
  • Proficiency in using scheduling software, communication platforms, and basic office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service-oriented with a passion for creating positive experiences.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency procedures.


Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around pickleball courts for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry pickleball equipment (up to 35 pounds).
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by program schedules.

Position Title: Pickleball Ambassador

Location: Beau Rivage Golf & Resort

Employment Type: Part-Time/Seasonal


Overview:

Our Pickleball Ambassadors will serve as key representatives of Beau Rivage Golf & Resort, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all members and guests participating in pickleball and pool activities.


This role involves managing member and league check-in, checking in public reservations and processing payments, and addressing inquiries related to memberships, leagues, and programs. The ambassador will also assist with light court maintenance and vending refreshments. The position is part time at 12-20 hours per week, scheduled between 6:30am and 9pm.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Membership Validation:

  • Check in members upon arrival.
  • Verify membership status and reservation.
  • Maintain accurate records of memberships and reservations by promptly checking in member guests and collecting any guest fees.


2. Public Reservations:

  • Manage public court reservations efficiently.
  • Ensure that all bookings are confirmed and communicated clearly.
  • Address any scheduling conflicts or issues promptly.


3. Payment Processing:

  • Collect payments for member guests, court rentals, merchandise, and refreshments.
  • Provide receipts and maintain financial records accurately.


4. Customer Service:

  • Answer questions regarding membership options, league play, and program details.
  • Provide information about upcoming events or tournaments.
  • Foster a friendly atmosphere by greeting members and guests warmly.
  • Assist with occasional event set-up (e.g. tent and table set-up)


5. Court Maintenance:

  • Perform light maintenance tasks on the courts to ensure they are in good playing condition (e.g., rolling courts if wet).
  • Report any significant maintenance issues to management for further action.
  • Periodically Monitor Bathrooms for Cleanliness and Lost Items


6. Vending Operations:

  • Manage the refreshment vending area by stocking items as needed.
  • Ensure ongoing cleanliness and organization of the Shack.


7. Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs for tasks such as moving equipment or restocking supplies.


Qualifications:

  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Basic knowledge of pickleball rules and regulations is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Beau Rivage Golf & Resort in South Wilmington is currently seeking experienced prep cooks and cooks to join our team in providing great food and service at our Signature 19th Hole, The Veranda Bar & Grill. We serve a wide variety of customers ranging from club and resort members and community residents to hotel/event guests and Wilmington locals. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, we serve casual comfort food and traditional pub fare in a laid-back atmosphere.

Kitchen roles include maintaining high levels of quality, service, presentation and cleanliness when it comes to food-service. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about creating great food! Specific functions and duties include prep of menu items according to recipes, plating presentations and practicing sanitary and safe food handling at all times.
