Meet Our New Pickleball Instructor: Welcome Bo to the Beau Rivage Pickleball Community
January 7, 2026
Bo brings a unique blend of professional expertise, teaching experience, and genuine passion for pickleball to the Wilmington community.
A former technology business executive, Bo is also an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity in the Department of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In 2023, Bo and his wife, Michele, relocated to Wilmington after spending 28 years in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area, where they raised their two children.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Bo spent many years playing competitive club tennis. In 2020, he and Michele were introduced to pickleball and it quickly became a central part of their lives. While living in the Lake Norman area, they were very active members of the Lake Norman Pickleball Association and the broader Charlotte playing community.
After moving to Wilmington, Bo and Michele became deeply involved in the local pickleball scene, with a special focus on the Wrightsville Beach Pickleball group. Bo holds a 4.8 DUPR rating (though he no longer competes in tournaments) and is an IPTPA-certified Pickleball Instructor.
Over the past two years, Bo has focused on developing the game locally. If you’ve spent time at Wrightsville Beach Park, chances are you’ve seen him offering encouragement, sharing tips, or even lending paddles and balls to fellow players during recreational play. His approach is rooted in inclusivity, growth, and making the game accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Now, Bo is looking to give back on a larger scale, contributing his experience, time, and energy to help propel and expand pickleball throughout the Wilmington area.
