Welcome to The Golf School at Beau Rivage
Norwood Ezzell and J. Banks Guyton are recognized as two of the most experienced and competent golf instructors in the coastal Carolina area. Their ability to convey the nuances of improving an individual’s golf swing and thereby lowering your score-per-round is a talent very few golf instructors can claim.
The Golf School at Beau Rivage is open year round. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Monday through Thursdays, and classes are available to individuals as well as groups of 4 to 8 (1 instructor per each group of 4). You can choose attend The Golf School for just one day or up to 3 complete days of intensive golf schooling.

J. Banks Guyton became a Class A, PGA Professional in 1966. He is a well-known playing professional in the world of golf. Banks was the Carolinas PGA Senior Player of the Year and also the Virginia PGA Player of the Year. He has competed in the US Senior Open, several PGA Senior championships and the Western Open in Chicago. Banks served as Head Golf Professional at the Williamsburg Club in Williamsburg, VA; South Bend Country Club in South Bend, IN; Echo Farms Country Club in Wilmington, NC and as the Head Golf Professional at Beau Rivage Golf & Resort since 2006 Banks has dedicated himself to teaching others the game that he loves. His teaching has brought so much enjoyment and satisfaction to his students and to himself. His ability to assess an individual's swing strengths and weaknesses, coupled with the skill to impart to a student the nuances of how to improve that swing, is a gift which his many students appreciate and loudly applaud. As part of The Golf School at Beau Rivage, Banks offers instruction for both individuals and small groups. Banks is also a professional club fitter and maker, specializing in Single Frequency Matching Clubs. His workshop is located within the Pro Shop at Beau Rivage Golf & Resort.

Norwood Ezzell (Eze) is the director and founder of The Golf School at Beau Rivage .
Norwood is a graduate of the US Golf Teacher’s Federation and is a Certified Level 3 Teaching Professional. He also attended the USGTF Golf School in Myrtle Beach, SC where he passed the Playing Ability Test, the Jimmy Ballard Doral Country Club Golf School located in Miami, FL, and the Advantage Golf School at Pinehurst Country Club under the direction of Rich Wainwright. Norwood founded The Golf School at Beau Rivage in 2004 and works closely and under the guidance of Beau Rivage PGA Head Professional, J. Banks Guyton, who also teaches at the school.
