Local Attractions

There is an endless number of interesting and fun attractions you can visit while staying at Beau Rivage Golf & Resort.  Head north to Historic downtown Wilmington, and you may feel like you are stepping back in time.  Old fashioned trolleys and horse drawn carriages dot the streets, eager to enlighten the latest visitor of the exciting history of our downtown. You might choose to tour one of the many restored antebellum mansions or stroll along our beautiful Cape Fear Riverwalk.  Downtown offers great one-stop shopping centrals, such as the Cotton Exchange and Chandler's Wharf, as well as many unique storefronts throughout the streets. Antique lovers take heed, you will find treasures in Wilmington's antique district! You also might enjoy a dinner cruise on the  Henrietta III, an old-fashioned, sternwheel paddleboat, or explore the bowels of the Battleship USS North Carolina, which is open to the public for daily touring.

Heading south from Beau Rivage, Wilmington's most popular attractions are our many beaches.  Pleasure Island, including Carolina and Kure Beaches, is only minutes from our facility.  When you're tired of splashing in the ocean or soaking up the rays, there is plenty to keep you busy on the island.  There are many delicious restaurants serving up fresh coastal fare and cold drinks. You can enjoy a walking tour of Ft. Fisher, a Historic Civil War Battle Site and Museum, and stronghold of the Confederacy.  Or perhaps you'd rather cool off while viewing the marvelous display of aquatic life at the newly expanded, 93,000 square foot North Carolina Aquarium.  Both of these attractions are located at the South end of Kure Beach.   While on the South End, you may also enjoy a wonderfully relaxing 30-minute ride on the North Carolina ferry to the lovely, seaside town of Southport.  There you can wander and shop in the quaint downtown area and enjoy a delightful sea-side lunch.
